That's honestly the best way I have found to even speak about this book without spoiling everything. It is told in multiple points of view, which is my favorite, but you had better make sure to make sure you read the chapter heading to confirm who's mind you are in. The men are hot as can be, dangerous and full of secrets. It read much like a thriller with excitement, spice, and so much more. ![]() She has such a writing style that keeps you guessing and when you think you know something it will twist and you are left once again trying to find the answers that you seek. Perhaps this is because Swann’s Way commences the exhaustive process of getting to the end and many readers simply never make it much farther past the tale of the wealthy aesthete who quite unhappily attempts to navigate through a society that places far importance on wealth and financial stability that he is able to generate. Swann gives his name to what is almost surely the most famous single volume that makes up the whole of the text. Time being, of course, the dominant facet of his recollection of the spatial interplay of societal convention. Readers of every single word will travel with Marcel from childhood to middle-age and join the ride as he indulges in love affairs, friendships and charting the course through a person of his status and personality navigated societal conventions of the time. In fact, Barker's book opens with a quote by Garrard, arguing plainly and persuasively why we should still use the word "feminism" when it comes to an early modern woman painter such as Artemisia, and why we should think about her art in more profound, even radical feminist, terms-which is exactly what both books succeed in doing despite their structural differences. So does Sheila Barker, who has made it clear that she is indebted to Garrard, and that her contribution will add to Garrard's latest intervention. Mary Garrard, who wrote the very first English monograph on Artemisia, knows the state of the field and the stakes of her latest work. Thankfully, those concerns do not apply here. To see two more books on Artemisia Gentileschi might at first make one wonder what new can be said about an individual to whom many volumes have already been devoted and, moreover, how can two roughly contemporaneous books of similar subjects not overlap to the point of redundancy. ![]() ![]() ![]() In a mystery taking place during Batman s early days of crime fighting, Batman: The Long Halloween is one of the greatest Dark Knight stories ever told.
